The Food Quality Control and Analysis Program was established in 2012 and received its first students in the 2012-2013 Academic Year.

Purpose of the Program

Food Quality Control and Analysis Program; It is a 2-year higher education program that aims to train intermediate manpower to assist the managers in the quality control and production departments of the production unit in small, medium and large-scale enterprises that process food raw materials and to realize this purpose.

Program Goals

The main goal of the program is; In the establishments that produce and sell foodstuffs and substances and materials in contact with them, in ensuring the minimum technical and hygienic conditions and in determining the compliance of the foodstuffs produced and sold in these places, as well as the substances and materials in contact with food, in addition, starting with the sampling process and determining that party's To train intermediate staff who have the qualifications to carry out all the operations performed in checking the compliance with the desired characteristics.

Scope of the Program

In the Food Quality Control and Analysis Program, students take theoretical courses related to the composition of foods, processing, physical, chemical and microbiological analyzes, quality control, food-related legislation and business controls and apply this knowledge practically in different enterprises, Food Safety Graduates as assistant staff who know the microbiological criteria and applications of foods within the Control System.

For this purpose, students will be able to determine the compliance of all foodstuffs and materials and materials in contact with food, from production to sales, to meet the demands of the sector, as well as to carry out product follow-up and sampling properly, and to perform quality and control in food laboratories. is given.

Today, the duties of food inspector / assistant food inspector are tried to be carried out with the staff trained at the end of the training given to health technicians and environmental health technicians. In this direction, students who graduated from the Food Quality Control and Analysis Program will be trained in the food industry and will respond to the needs as intermediate staff to assist food controllers. Students who graduate as technicians have the chance to be employed in both the private sector and public institutions.

Since the number of universities offering associate degree education in Food Quality Control and Analysis in our country is low, those who graduate from this department have a high chance of employment. Our graduate students have the opportunity to work in all branches of the food industry, in public and private institutions and organizations, in all relevant laboratories where physical, chemical and microbiological analyzes of food are made. For this purpose, it can work in the fields of management, production and laboratory in public institutions such as Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry Control Laboratories, Institute of Hygiene, Tariş, Municipalities, Provincial Health Directorates and in the food industry affiliated to the private sector, and can open their own private workplaces. In particular, our graduates can find employment opportunities anywhere from small food businesses such as patisseries, dairy, dairy and bakery where all kinds of food are processed to very complicated large food businesses.

Graduates who successfully complete the program; In order to ensure the food safety and quality of public and private institutions and organizations, it may carry out food inspection and control services by observing minimum technical and hygienic conditions in the production, processing and distribution stages, including the primary production stage of substances and materials in contact with food.

In order to ensure food safety and quality, it is necessary to constantly inspect food and production places, warehouses and sales places. There are not enough personnel for this job. Therefore, graduates of this program will be able to close this gap in the market.
